Mixing Bed Sizes Into One Bunk Bed for Children

July 18th, 2011 | Posted by ChristineM in Casa Kids

When you think of  bunk beds for children, you often think that whatever you choose, both bed will be the same size. Two twins are often the usual case when buying bunk beds for the younger set. But when you choose the route of having custom furniture created, you can have something very unique for your home.

Roberto Gil recently completed a project for a young boy, Jared, by combining two different bed sizes into one bunk bed. The top bed is twin sized while the bottom is full sized. This is perfect for the family who may have older guests and family member staying over, who would be uncomfortable on a mattress as small as a twin. Instead of having them feel cramped, this new bunk bed caters to both young and older. It’s also great for siblings of varying ages. As one gets older they can sleep in the full, with roominess and comfort.

What’s also great is the other work done in the room as well, with a great mix of desk space and storage against the far window. The minimalist design takes up very little space and helps make the room look more organized overall.

You can have something custom created for your own children’s room from Roberto. Just check out Casa Kids for more examples of his work and have him and his crew come to your home and install your brand new modern childrens furniture.
