Having a small room can be tough for a child. What’s even worse? Having TWO children in a small room. You want them to have some space but you have to work with what you’ve got. Recently, Roberto Gil of Casa Kids worked with a family who lived in a small Tribeca loft and turned their kids room into something manageable and fun!

Instead of the traditional parallel bunk bed for kids, they changed it up and made it an L shape. That way they could utilize some of the space underneath for a small wardrobe and extra drawer space. There’s also stairs so that the family dog can reach the top bunk with ease.Bunk beds with steps and folding desk

The windows did unfortunately have to be blocked, but the placement still gives enough light and makes raising and lowering the blinds easy! There is also a hanging bookcase with a flip down desk that allows for an easy way to create extra space when needed and then convert it to a work area easily.Bunk beds with steps and folding desk

This is the kind of layout your room could have when you work  with Casa Kids. They can work out unique bunk beds for children and other awesome furniture that both you and your kids will love!

The Benefits of a Loft Bed With Desk In the Kids Room

August 22nd, 2011 | Posted by ChristineM in Uncategorized - (0 Comments)

Making space in a kids room is important. Let’s face it, the kids usually get the smallest room because as adults, you have more items, furniture, and space that you need for all your belongings. But that doesn’t mean that your child can’t have a room that works for his or her benefit. And having a loft bed with desk is a great way to save space but also provide them with what they need; a work environment.

Whether that works in arts and crafts or typing a school paper, every child should have some sort of desk space that becomes their designated homework and project area. Instead of having them take up space in the dining room or uncomfortably laid out on the floor, they should have their own space they can call theirs. Kids love having that sort of privacy and something that truly is theirs.

Casa Kids can create the kind of loft bed with desk that will fit the dimensions of your kids room perfectly. That’s what you need, not an awkward fitting piece of furniture that you pick up from just anywhere and try desperately to move into the room. Why struggle to make it work when you can get something that fits the way it should?

Bunk beds for kids is a tried and true way of saving space when you have multiple children staying in the same room. Especially if that room isn’t as big as it could be. The great thing about bunk beds is that they can grow with the children, especially if it is custom built.

Casa Kids can make you a bunk bed that will fit twin sized mattresses and when your kids get a bit older, they can actually customize and change it for you so that it upgrades to full sized beds. Or if you have one child whose quite a bit younger and smaller than the other, a twin over full bunk bed can be the perfect solution. It can be done when you have the option of a custom kids room.

Bunk beds can really stick with your children for a long time. I have friends in their late teens, twin sisters who are very close and still share their bunk bed. They live in a small apartment in Queens, New York with their family, and it works perfectly to save them room. So think about your kids and their future with bunk beds for children. It’s a piece of furniture that’s so versatile, it’ll last for years.

How Custom Kids Rooms Can Transform Space

It often happens that a family moves into a new apartment or home and feels that they may be settling with room sizes, especially the kid’s room. Sometimes they wind up being a lot smaller than parents would like and they feel like their child won’t get the sort of living environment they always envisioned for them. But that’s not true. With custom kids rooms, furniture can be built specifically for the room’s measurements so that a child can get everything he needs. From room for the bed and storage to plenty of desk space to work on, it can be done, even if a room seems minuscule.

That’s what Casa Kids specializes in. They’ll come in and measure your home, speak with you and your child about what you’d like, and then get to work. And once your custom kids room is done, they’ll come over with the furniture and install it for you, so you don’t have to fumble around with it when it gets to your home. From modern loft beds to built in storage and ample surface space, your child will have everything they need to live comfortably. They’ll truly have their own unique space!

A Loft Bed for Kids Should Be One That Grows With Them

Recently, Roberto Gil of Casa Kids finished a custom project in a Manhattan apartment for a 12 year old boy’s room. The room is a very small room of the apartment, but this project really shows you what you can do with even the smallest of spaces.

When it comes to creating a loft bed for kids that’s going to grow with them as they get older, Roberto is a pro. This 12 year old wanted a larger bed than a twin so the loft bed is full sized, with an “L” shaped desk underneath that is perfect for  him to do his schoolwork on.  And since there’s a cut out on the side facing the window, there is plenty of natural light for him to work with.

On the other end of the bed is plenty of storage and a bookshelf for him to store all his school needs and his own personal reading material. The gray accent of the piece makes it all look far more grown up than “kiddie”, which is exactly what a boy his age would love.

Modern loft beds for kids can fit even in the smallest rooms and still give them the feel that they have their own grown up space. Get your custom kids bedroom by visiting Casa Kids!

Mixing Bed Sizes Into One Bunk Bed for Children

July 18th, 2011 | Posted by ChristineM in Casa Kids - (0 Comments)

When you think of  bunk beds for children, you often think that whatever you choose, both bed will be the same size. Two twins are often the usual case when buying bunk beds for the younger set. But when you choose the route of having custom furniture created, you can have something very unique for your home.

Roberto Gil recently completed a project for a young boy, Jared, by combining two different bed sizes into one bunk bed. The top bed is twin sized while the bottom is full sized. This is perfect for the family who may have older guests and family member staying over, who would be uncomfortable on a mattress as small as a twin. Instead of having them feel cramped, this new bunk bed caters to both young and older. It’s also great for siblings of varying ages. As one gets older they can sleep in the full, with roominess and comfort.

What’s also great is the other work done in the room as well, with a great mix of desk space and storage against the far window. The minimalist design takes up very little space and helps make the room look more organized overall.

You can have something custom created for your own children’s room from Roberto. Just check out Casa Kids for more examples of his work and have him and his crew come to your home and install your brand new modern childrens furniture.

Modern Bunk Beds Can Save You Tons of Space

When it comes to rearranging the children’s room, especially when there’s a new addition to the family, it can be stressful. You may think you’ll need to move to a place with bigger space to accommodate both of your kids. But you don’t have to. Casa Kids can work out the kind of custom kids rooms that will save you space and money in the long run.

Check out the project recently worked on by Roberto Gil for Celia and Tamsen’s room. The bunk bed design lets the older child sleep up top while the crib is on wheels, easily able to roll underneath the bunk bed. The great thing about this design is it will grow with the child.  The crib will become a toddler bed and then a twin size bed, making it traditional bunk beds for children.

What is also great about this design is the bookshelf underneath and the built in dresser and mini closet on the side. It’s a serious space saver and in a place like New York City, where this room is located, that’s important when apartments and homes alike can sometimes be rather tiny.

You can have something just as unique for your children’s room if you check out Casa Kids. And if you aren’t sure, you can stop by the showroom and check out some of the sets that have already been made!
