Instead of the traditional parallel bunk bed for kids, they changed it up and made it an L shape. That way they could utilize some of the space underneath for a small wardrobe and extra drawer space. There’s also stairs so that the family dog can reach the top bunk with ease.

The windows did unfortunately have to be blocked, but the placement still gives enough light and makes raising and lowering the blinds easy! Recently, Roberto Gil of Casa Kids finished a custom project in a Manhattan apartment for a 12 year old boy’s room. The room is a very small room of the apartment, but this project really shows you what you can do with even the smallest of spaces.

This 12 year old wanted a larger bed than a twin so the loft bed is full sized, with an “L” shaped desk underneath that is perfect for  him to do his schoolwork on.  And since there’s a cut out on the side facing the window, there is plenty of natural light for him to work with.
